    Brett Harkins was drafted in the seventh round, 133rd overall, by the New York Islanders in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. With over 16 years professional playing experience, Brett spent 4 years in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, and Columbus Blue Jackets, and as recent 2007-2008 season was still competing professionally in Europe. Brett has recently been named the Head coach of the Cleveland 96’ Barons and looks forward to the transition from the ice to the bench. ‘It’s no fun to not be good at something....so let’s work at getting good' Brett's experience, knowledge and passion for the game will be a tremendous asset to the High Performance Hockey staff.

         
     

    Don Harkins serves as the Director of Scouting for the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) and as the head coach of the Compuware (MWEHL) 98 AAA Team. Don’s experience in developing young players to reach their full potential is extraordinary. In two seasons with the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets (USHL) he built a highly competitive team with 34 NCAA Division Scholarship players and 9 NHL Draft Picks. Some recent draft picks or players that Don has developed, signed, drafted or worked with are Zac Dalpe (2nd Round /Carolina), Jimmy Hayes (2nd Round/Toronto), Adam Comrie (3rd Round/Florida), Greg Pateryn (5th Round/Toronto) and Luke Witkowski (7th Round/Tampa Bay) Tommy Cross (35th Overall Boston Bruins / Boston College), CJ Severyn (Calgary Flames / Ohio State), Andrew Glass (Washington Capitals / Boston University) and Danny Hobbs (New York Rangers / U-Mass Amherst) Peter Mueller (Phoenix Coyotes), 2008 NHL Rookie of the Year Patrick Kane (#1 Overall Pick 2007 NHL Draft/ Chicago Blackhawks), Chris Summers (University of Michigan / Phoenix 1st Round 2006)

         
     

    Jim Critzer brings 9 years of playing experience and five years of coaching and training experience to the High Performance Hockey Staff. Jim has coached 2 teams to division championships in as many years. Jim currently is the LTP director and was recently elected as the Head of Program for The Winterhurst Hockey Association. Additionally Jim will be the assistant coach on the WHA Mite Gold and Yellow teams. Jim was invited to coach at the Elite Prospects Showcase and Futures Showcase held April 22-25 in Detroit, Michigan; but unfortunately had to decline due to prior commitments. Jim’s ability to teach and instruct young players in conjunction with his passion, dedication and enthusiasm is a tremendous asset to High Performance Hockey.

     
    Craig Montgomery brings 15 years of playing experience and seven years of coaching experience to the High Performance Hockey Staff. Craig has coached at the High School level as well as being an excellent teacher to young players learning the game. Craig has been the Director of the Strongsville In House Program and is currently the Hockey Director of the Winterhurst Hockey Association. This year Craig will be one of the coaches at the Elite Prospects Showcase and Futures Showcase held April 22-25 in Detroit, Michigan. Craig brings a tremendous amount passion, dedication and enthusiasm to the High Performance Hockey staff.
